Fiberglass Boat Repair Technician

Who we are:

  • Nordmanner Marine Services is a structural & cosmetic boat repair shop with a mission to deliver professional, reliable, high quality fiberglass boat repairs

Job Objective:

  • To conduct structural and cosmetic repairs on fiberglass boats.

We are looking for people who can:

  • Conduct damage assessments.

  • Prepare and read layup schedules.

  • Complete fiberglass repairs.

  • Have vacuum bagging experience is an asset

  • Can work in teams and independently.

Description of the work:

  • Damage assessments.

  • Grind, layup, sand, and finish fiberglass repairs.

  • Remove and install parts.

  • Clean, polish, and refinish.

  • Application of epoxy and two-part paints.

  • Gel coat matching, application, repairs

  • Hull, keel, and rudder fairing services

  • Osmosis repairs

  • Repair boat decks

  • Painting, varnishing

  • Keep the work area clean.


  • At least 18 years old.

  • Fiberglass experience.

  • Experience with epoxies, resins and gelcoats.

  • Experience with gelcoat repairs.

  • Some experience with painting.

  • Experience with spray equipment.

  • Lots of experience with hand tools, air tools and electric tools.

  • Experience with stationary/shop power equipment .

  • Marine trade math basics.

  • Boat yard safety.

  • Drivers license with a clean record.

  • You must have 3m half-mask (we supply filters), steel toed work shoes, safety glasses.

  • Work wear for all weather conditions.

Special working conditions:

  • We work outside in the elements. You must be prepared to work in the hot, cold, rain and wind.

Company Hours of Operation:

  • Winter hours - Monday to Friday (7:30 – 16:00) (30-minute unpaid lunch)

  • Summer hours – 4-day work week (7:00 – 18:00) (1-hour unpaid lunch)

  • Hours are subject to change


  • Based on experience - $25-$35 per hour
